Understand a deal assessment

An assessment explains what the available comparisons suggest about a listing and where the evidence falls short.

Read the result first

Open Review deal from a listing. When enough relevant comparison evidence is available, the analysis can show a provisional resale range, potential profit, purchase ceiling and FlipScore. You can then review optional costs and preferences.

You do not have to supply a resale estimate before opening the assessment. Some listings will not have enough evidence for a result.

What does “More evidence needed” mean?

First Flip has not found enough suitable comparisons to support an estimate. Read the explanation for the missing evidence or unfinished research. Check the original listing for clearer item details; do not treat a missing estimate as a value of zero.

In this captured example, the app found two comparison candidates and required at least three. A count alone does not establish that the items are comparable.

Understand the terms

Resale range
A provisional range based on the available comparisons. Check whether those observations are asking prices or evidence of completed sales.
Potential profit
An estimate after purchase price and included costs. Missing transport, cleaning, repairs or selling fees can make it too optimistic.
Purchase ceiling
A buying guide based on the lower estimate, costs and profit preference. It changes when those assumptions change.
FlipScore
A provisional 1–10 ranking used by the current method. It is not a probability of making money or a measure of selling speed.

Check the assumptions before buying

Compare the item, condition and location behind the estimate with the listing in front of you. Read asking price versus resale value for the evidence differences, and the flipping costs people forget before relying on a margin.

Reliable comparison coverage and calibration are still being verified. See product status for the current limits.
